General
Grackle Talk ("Grackle Talk", "we" or "us") respects user privacy and is committed to protecting the privacy of you, the user ("you"), through compliance with this Grackle Talk Privacy Policy ("Policy"). This Policy describes:
- The types of information Grackle Talk may collect or that you may provide when you download, install, register with, access, or use the Grackle Talk website ("Website"), mobile application ("App"), and related services (collectively referred to as the "Service"); and
- Grackle Talk's practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.
By using the Service, you agree with Grackle Talk's collection, use, and sharing of your personal information in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you further agree to and are bound by the Terms and Conditions governing your use of the Service.
Information We Collect
When you use the Service, Grackle Talk may collect the following personal information about you:
Account Information: To register for a Grackle Talk account, you may provide us with a username, name, profile picture, payment information, and email address.
Profile Information: Once you have registered with Grackle Talk, you will have a unique profile ("Profile") that is displayed on your dashboard. Your Profile will include information about your learning progress, lesson plans, your learning statistics, and your achievements. Grackle Talk may scan or review any Public Profile information to ensure compliance with our Terms and Conditions. Grackle Talk may restrict or delete Public Profile or Account Information if it violates our Terms and Conditions or for any other reason.
AI Features & Input: Grackle Talk uses Artificial Intelligence ("AI") to help create lessons and other content within the Service, based on users' learning activity. For example, AI may be used to generate written feedback on a learner's spoken Spanish answer or to power conversational practice. When you interact with any of Grackle Talk's AI-enabled features, the text you submit (including text transcribed from your speech on your own device) may be shared with AI vendors such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google solely to generate the AI response. Grackle Talk may retain transcripts of these interactions for product improvement and personalization purposes. Please do not submit any personal, sensitive, or confidential information when using the Service.
Speech Recognition (On-Device): When you record a spoken Spanish answer, transcription is performed entirely on your device using Apple's Speech framework on iOS and the open-source Vosk recognizer on Android. Your audio recordings are not sent to Grackle Talk's servers and are not shared with any third-party AI vendor. Only the resulting text transcript leaves your device. We will not use your voice recordings to develop any voice cloning technology.
Activity Data & IP Addresses: When you use the Service, we may generate data about your use of the Service, which may include your browser and device data, log data, and IP address. We will also generate data regarding your engagement in the educational activities provided on the Service.
Cookies: When you access the Website, we may store certain data from your browser using cookies. A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's computer tied to data about the user. We may use session ID cookies to confirm that users are logged in. If you do not want your data to be collected by cookies, there is a simple procedure in most browsers that allows you to deny or accept the cookie feature. However, certain cookies may be necessary to access the Website or for us to provide you with certain features available on the Website (e.g., customized information).

Grackle Talk may process your personal information: (i) to provide products or services you request, (ii) to promote Grackle Talk's legitimate interests, (iii) to comply with legal obligations, and (iv) with your consent.
