I’m intimidated to take Spanish with others. What are your classes like?

I am passionate about sharing my love of Spanish language, literature, and culture with others, and I have 19 years of experience teaching all levels and ages. Classes are fun, high-energy, and intimate. I include vocabulary lists, grammar review, and some sort of authentic material (music, interviews, videos, podcasts, tv or film clips) in every class.

What is the best way to practice my Spanish outside of class?

I host bi-monthly, relaxed social gatherings to provide opportunities to practice your Spanish with others. I have hosted potlucks, happy hours, game nights, cooking nights, and lake outings. These are great opportunities to practice your Spanish in a casual environment. You can also use apps like Duolingo, Babbel, podcasts, videos, tv series, and movies to get more exposure and practice. And, of course, consider coming on the Oaxaca immersion program to get the full experience of immersion!

Your business used to be called Travel Grackle. Do you still organize group trips?

Travel Grackle specialized in custom trips for groups of ten or less. I now offer a Spanish immersion program in Oaxaca, Mexico. I no longer organize group trips to other countries. I do, however, offer custom trip planning if you would like some help with travel to Spain, Chile, Argentina, or Peru. Please check out the “Trip Planning” tab for a breakdown of the packages I offer to customized trip planning. I love working with individuals, families and small groups to create customized itineraries based on your unique interests. I am always happy to sit down with you or have a phone conversation to organize a trip based on your interests and passions.
